  • How does the application and selection process work?
    We work to build a diverse and committed community of artists. Through our application and selection process we are looking for quality and commitment of work. Unique perspective and approach. Clarity and focus of proposal.
  • What is the studio and gallery like?
    The studio and gallery are a modular and flexible space. We try to tailor it to each artist-in-residency needs and expectations. The studio is equipped with all the necessary tools and has enough space to create medium to large scale works.
  • Are spouses/significant others/children/pets allowed?
    The space is open to visitors and pet friendly. We are though prioritise the needs of the artists-in-residence and staff.
  • What is the weather like in Thessaloniki?
    Thessaloniki is a Mediterranean city. You should expect a hot climate with July and August being the hottest months. If you can not tolerate hot weather you should avoid July and August. Here is a link with more details.
  • How much the residency cost?
    The current fee is €480 per month of a minimum stay one month. With this fee you will have access to the studio, workshop, gallery, office and sitting area.
  • What is not included in the residency fee
    Accommodation Unfortunately we can not provide accommodation at the moment. We are very happy to help you find one. The area is full hotels, airbnbs, restaurants and bars. Materials We don't provide materials. Thessaloniki has a lot of art supplies and tool shops. In case you need something special during your stay contact us in order to arrange delivery.
  • Can my residency be refunded if I need to cancel?
    If for any reason the residency has to be cancelled by the artist-in-residence prior to its commencement bEam arts will charge a €100 fee and will return the remaining amount paid in accordance. If the residency is cancelled by the artist-in-residence within 2 months of the start date, the artist will not be refunded unless bEam arts are able to find a replacement.
  • How do I arrive at the residency?
    The easiest way to arrive at the Thessaloniki is by plane. After the residency acceptance you will provided with detailed instructions, where to find the studios.
  • When should I arrive at the residency?
    Ideally the starting date of your residency period.
